Things which are likely to impact your business/industry by 2020?
One of the greatest things I pursue in any industry, including our industry, is the way technology is being adopted by consumers, consumerization of IT, product relations, social channels are being effectively used by customers so that the customer buying patterns are getting impacted. Most of them have started buying online also. So this digital transformation is happening because of all these behavioral changes in the buying pattern. This means the companies are having capability to deliver these kinds of solutions as per changing business models. IoT is also going to impact our consumer durables space to some extent and we are doing some work with regards to this.
What should be a CIO’s agenda in 2020?
We have started our digital transformation journey with 6 tracks: social, mobile, analytics, consumer experience, IoT and omni-channel experience. We have started projects in these areas and we wish to take a consumer-focused approach.
Challenges with rapid evolvement of technology you foresee in 2020?
Digital culture itself will take some time to seep into our organization. So that is a number one challenge. The next challenge is bringing technology is easy but adopting it/using it will depend on the first challenge which I mentioned. The other challenge is IoT, though it will bring lot of convenience to consumers, it will also bring in security-related challenges which will make the adoption little slow.
What are your personal goals for the year 2020?
My goal is to stay fit and participate in half marathon next year!
