"Analytics could help businesses deal with large data pools"

Alok Khanna, Executive Director - IS, Indian Oil Corporation talks to CIO&Leader about the future of the modern workplace. Here are the excerpts:

What is your vision of the future of the modern workplace?

IT systems are being made to enable the business users. Unless business users are able to draw benefits from IT systems, we won't be able to go to a modern IT office. So the officers may need portal-based solutions, mobility-based solutions, etc. Then, there may be grievance redressals that front offices are dealing in. Thus, businesses should be enabled and access data whenever they want. Most of the time businesses are grappling with data. Analytics could be a very good use case for them.
