What does it take to be a practical CIO?
The word, 'practical CIO' says it all. Being practical is being realistic. We are living in an age of innovation and IT digital disruption. A CIO needs to think what is required for his business and look out for a business change which can be implemented in his organization. A practical CIO is someone who is not a technocrat but a business guy with a good knowledge of technology.
What's your view on pay-per-use model?
The cloud journey has always evolved around subscription-based models. But now pay-per-use models have been extended into on-premises architecture. IT companies have realized that moving to cloud bring some challenges, such as scalability, data governance issues, etc. These issues were managed when we moved to on-premises pay-per-use model.
