Neelam Dhawan has been appointed as Chairperson of the Data Security Council of India (DSCI), effective April 1, 2026, marking a significant leadership move in India’s cybersecurity and data protection ecosystem.
A seasoned industry leader, Neelam Dhawan currently serves on the boards of leading organizations including Tech Mahindra, Hindustan Unilever, Fractal Analytics, and Capita. She is also Chairperson of Ather Energy and Capillary Technologies.
With decades of leadership experience, including past roles as Managing Director at Microsoft India and HP India, she brings deep expertise in driving business transformation, digital innovation, and enterprise growth.
She succeeds Promod Bhasin and is expected to work closely with industry and government stakeholders to strengthen India’s cybersecurity framework, enhance data privacy practices, and position the country as a global leader in cyber resilience.
Her leadership comes at a critical time as emerging technologies like AI and quantum computing continue to reshape the cybersecurity landscape, requiring stronger collaboration, innovation, and governance across the ecosystem.
