Niva Bupa Health Insurance Modernizes Core Systems on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

Niva Bupa Health Insurance (Niva Bupa), one of India’s leading health insurers, is migrating its on-premises core policy administration systems to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) as part of its technology modernization strategy. The migration will help Niva Bupa enhance operational efficiency, improve system resilience and scalability, and gain greater technology agility to support business growth.

Founded in 2008 and serving millions of customers through digital platforms and partner networks nationwide, Niva Bupa provides health, travel, and related insurance solutions to individuals, families, and businesses across India. To modernize its technology environment and support the scale and complexity of continued business growth, Niva Bupa needed a secure, high-performance cloud infrastructure capable of supporting its mission-critical insurance operations. With OCI, Niva Bupa is able to modernize its core policy administration systems, and establish a more agile, resilient, and scalable technology foundation.

“Technology is central to our ambition of making quality healthcare more accessible through trusted and reliable health insurance. Our migration of core policy administration systems to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is an important step in building a more agile, resilient and scalable technology ecosystem,” said Dhiresh Rustogi, chief technology officer, Niva Bupa Health Insurance. “By simplifying our technology environment and automating critical infrastructure processes, we can improve operational efficiency while creating greater capacity to innovate. The increased agility will also help us develop and launch new products and services faster, enabling us to respond more effectively to evolving customer needs as we continue to scale. We are also exploring the potential of AI to further enhance customer experiences, strengthen decision-making, and create greater value for the individuals and businesses we serve.”

By migrating to OCI, Niva Bupa is consolidating its technology environment and automating the monitoring, patching, and scaling of its core policy administration systems. The migration will further strengthen the security, governance, and resilience of data. OCI’s scalable cloud architecture will also enable Niva Bupa to adjust technology resources in line with business requirements and support growing customer and transaction volumes. These capabilities will help Niva Bupa provide more reliable digital and policy servicing experiences, while establishing a foundation for the adoption of emerging technologies, including AI.

“As India’s insurance sector continues to evolve, insurers need secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure to deliver better experiences and outcomes for customers,” said Vivek Gupta, senior director and head, Technology Cloud, Oracle India. “OCI will provide Niva Bupa with a high-performance cloud platform to help strengthen the resilience and security of its critical systems, while supporting evolving business requirements. This will give Niva Bupa the technology foundation it needs to continue innovating and serving customers as its business grows.”
