BharatPe has announced the appointment of Ajit Kumar as its Chief Technology Officer (CTO). With nearly two decades of experience driving large-scale engineering transformation and innovation in fintech and digital ecosystems, Ajit will lead BharatPe’s technology vision, architecture, and product engineering as the company continues its growth journey in India’s evolving financial landscape.
Before joining BharatPe, Ajit spent over eight years at Paytm, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s technology infrastructure and scalability roadmap. During his tenure, he held multiple leadership positions—including Senior Vice President of Engineering, Vice President of Engineering, and AVP Engineering—and was instrumental in architecting high-performance systems that powered Paytm’s rapid expansion.
Ajit’s career also includes impactful roles at Snapdeal, where he led backend engineering for Shopo, Times Internet, xAd, and SAP Labs, where he contributed to the core development of SAP HANA and NetWeaver BRM. His journey began at YASU Technologies, which was later acquired by SAP.
Known for his deep technical acumen, team-building expertise, and passion for scalable systems, Ajit brings a wealth of experience in fintech, e-commerce, and enterprise software development. His leadership is expected to further strengthen BharatPe’s technological foundation as it innovates across payments, lending, and digital financial services.
