Anshuman Pund has joined SBM Bank (India) as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), where he will lead the bank’s enterprise information security, cyber risk management, regulatory compliance, and security operations strategy.
In his new role, Anshuman will be responsible for strengthening cyber resilience, overseeing security governance frameworks, managing SOC operations, and aligning information security initiatives with the bank’s digital and business transformation goals.
Prior to this, Anshuman served as Chief Information Security Officer at Suryoday Small Finance Bank, where he led Infosec GRC, regulatory compliance, cyber security operations, risk management, vendor governance, and team leadership in a highly regulated banking environment.
Earlier in his career, he held senior cybersecurity and risk leadership roles at Tech Mahindra, National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), and IDBI Intech, contributing to architecture reviews, fintech and bank onboarding security assessments, CSOC operations, ISO compliance, and large-scale security program execution.
Anshuman’s professional journey also includes impactful stints with AEGIS (Essar Group), National Institute for Smart Government, Reliance Tech Services, and Barco, giving him deep, hands-on exposure across banking, payments, telecom, government, and enterprise IT security domains.
With extensive expertise spanning information security governance, cyber risk, SOC operations, regulatory frameworks, vendor management, and large-scale security transformations, Anshuman Pund’s appointment further reinforces SBM Bank (India)’s focus on building a robust, future-ready cybersecurity posture.
