Karen Tan has been named the new Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Asia Pacific at DHL Express. With over two decades of leadership experience across technology, operations, and digital transformation, Karen will lead the company’s IT strategy and reinforce DHL’s commitment to innovation, security, and people development across the region.
Prior to this appointment, Karen served as CIO for DHL Express Singapore, where she drove the implementation of a nationwide digitalization framework, enhanced data protection and cybersecurity practices, and elevated employee engagement and leadership within IT. In her role as Data Protection Officer (DPO) Champion, she worked closely with global DPO and legal teams to ensure compliance with data governance and privacy standards.
Karen has also been a strong advocate for workplace culture, serving as DHL’s DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging) Champion. She spearheaded initiatives such as International Women’s Day, International Men’s Day, and Generations Day, fostering inclusivity and empowering employees at all levels.
With over 20 years of experience at DHL Express across IT, operations, and leadership roles in Singapore, Karen’s appointment reflects DHL’s focus on accelerating digital transformation while nurturing diverse and future-ready talent across Asia Pacific.
