Amit Waghmare, a 2014 Next100 winner, has taken over as Chief Information Officer at Bennett Coleman & Co. Ltd. (The Times of India), marking a significant leadership move in India’s media and publishing technology landscape.
Prior to this, he served as Group Chief Information Officer at DB Corp Ltd., where he led enterprise-wide IT strategy, technology modernization, and digital initiatives across the group’s diverse media operations.
Earlier, he held senior IT leadership roles at Page Industries Ltd., including Head of Information Technology and AGM – IT, driving large-scale IT transformation, e-commerce enablement, and enterprise systems modernization. He also briefly served as Head of IT at VIP Industries Limited.
His earlier career includes leading IT functions at Inorbit Malls (India) Pvt. Ltd. and Encore Healthcare Corporation, where he built and scaled technology operations to support business growth.
With over two decades of experience across media, retail, manufacturing, and healthcare sectors, Amit brings strong expertise in IT strategy, technology management, product development, procurement, and digital transformation. His appointment as CIO at Bennett Coleman & Co. Ltd. is expected to further accelerate the company’s technology-driven innovation across print, digital, and enterprise platforms.
