Nikunj Karia has taken on the role of Head of Information Technology at the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies, stepping into a key leadership position to drive technology strategy, digital transformation, and enterprise IT modernization for the institute.
In his new role, Nikunj will focus on building a robust, hands-on IT ecosystem that goes beyond presentations—aligning technology closely with business and academic objectives. His mandate includes IT governance, operational excellence, digital transformation initiatives, and ensuring technology acts as a strong enabler for creativity, learning, and innovation.
Prior to this, Nikunj spent nearly a decade at Balaji Telefilms as Vice President – Information Technology, where he served as a technology strategist and led large-scale IT operations, infrastructure, and security initiatives for one of India’s leading media and entertainment companies.
Earlier in his career, he held key IT leadership and service delivery roles at The Walt Disney Company India, Turner Broadcasting System, and Star TV Network, gaining deep exposure to media, broadcast, and enterprise IT environments. He began his career with hands-on infrastructure and support roles, building a strong foundation in IT operations and service management.
With extensive experience across IT infrastructure, governance, security operations, and digital media environments, Nikunj Karia’s appointment is expected to play a pivotal role in strengthening the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies’ digital backbone and future-ready technology vision.
