Syed Atif Umar joins Meesho as Head – Analytics!

Syed Atif Umar has taken on the role of Head – Analytics at Meesho, where he will lead analytics across critical business functions including Product, Growth, Customer, Credit, Supply Chain, Marketplace, and Finance. With over two decades of expertise in analytics, data science, and business intelligence, Syed will drive Meesho’s data-led decision-making and growth strategy.

Before joining Meesho, Syed held senior leadership roles at Nykaa, Flipkart, Citi, Barclays, Fullerton, GE Capital, and American Express, where he spearheaded analytics, digital transformation, and data-driven business growth. Most recently, he served as SVP & Group Chief Data Science & Analytics Officer at Nykaa, overseeing all things data across Beauty, Fashion, Retail, B2B, and Private Labels.

At Flipkart, he led analytics for all categories, marketplace strategy, and new businesses such as Cleartrip, Shopsy, Grocery, and Health, building large-scale data frameworks for competitive advantage. During his tenure at Citi and Barclays, he played a pivotal role in decision management, advanced analytics, and risk modeling across global portfolios.

With his extensive background spanning e-commerce, retail, financial services, and technology, Syed’s appointment marks a significant step in Meesho’s journey to strengthen its data-driven culture and accelerate its mission of democratizing e-commerce for Bharat.
