Vishal Bhatia has taken on the role of Chief Information Technology & Digital Officer at SBI Life Insurance. With nearly two decades of leadership in digital strategy, core banking technology, and fintech innovation, Vishal will lead the charge in shaping SBI Life’s IT and digital transformation roadmap, ensuring customer-centric, future-ready solutions.
Prior to this, Vishal played pivotal roles at some of the country’s leading financial institutions. At Canara Bank, he defined digital and technology strategy for 20+ products, driving 100% delivery and enabling the bank to secure MeitY’s #1 ranking in digital adoption for three consecutive years. Earlier, as CTO of Kotak Cherry, he built a DIY investment ecosystem from the ground up, integrating MF, stocks, deposits, and digital lending on a cloud-native fintech platform. At IDFC First Bank, Vishal was part of the core team that set up the bank’s IT landscape, managing 26+ critical applications across consumer and business banking. His global banking technology journey also includes leadership roles at Societe Generale and Infosys, driving large-scale core banking implementations across India, Europe, and Turkey.
