Sunil Nishankar has joined Ageas Federal Life Insurance as Chief Information Security Officer & DPO, based in Mumbai.
Prior to joining Ageas Federal Life Insurance, Nishankar served as Chief Information Security Officer at Generali Central Life Insurance, where he was responsible for information security within the regulated life insurance organization.
Before Generali Central Life Insurance, Nishankar served as Vice President – Information Security at Genpact India, gaining experience across information security, risk assessment, data privacy and regulatory requirements including GDPR and CCPA.
Earlier, he worked with IBM India as Project Manager and Senior Security Specialist, handling security projects for clients across sectors including public sector banking, finance, production and healthcare.
Nishankar also spent more than six years with Aujas Networks, where he held Consultant and Senior Consultant roles, building experience across cybersecurity and risk assessment.
He began his technology career at Exa India as a System Administrator, managing 150 servers, system security, backups, network access and process automation. Earlier, he worked as a Linux Instructor and Consultant at Caballero Consultancy, providing Linux training and technical support for IT infrastructure and security.
With extensive experience spanning information security, data privacy, risk management, cybersecurity consulting and IT infrastructure, Nishankar brings a broad security leadership background to his new role at Ageas Federal Life Insurance.
