Airtel Business has launched Airtel IQ Gateway, a platform aimed at helping enterprises manage customer communications across SMS, WhatsApp, Rich Communication Services (RCS), business voice, and number verification from one place.
Announced on October 5, 2026, the platform is positioned as a Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP)-compliant control plane for enterprise communications. Airtel says it combines its fraud protection capabilities with network intelligence to give businesses greater visibility into message delivery, vendor performance, and potential fraudulent traffic.
One platform for multiple communication channels
Enterprises often use multiple service providers and tools to manage customer conversations. Airtel says this fragmented setup can make it difficult to track whether messages have actually reached customers and can add operational and regulatory challenges.
IQ Gateway brings these communication channels together through a single dashboard. It also provides real-time analytics and network-level delivery reports.
The platform supports automatic switching to backup service providers and intelligent routing across SMS, WhatsApp, RCS, and voice. This allows enterprises to use fallback options when a communication channel or provider does not deliver a message.
Airtel also says the platform integrates with its native message template system, known as Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), to reduce the manual effort involved in managing pre-approved message templates.
Focus on fraud and artificial traffic
A key part of IQ Gateway is its use of Airtel’s network intelligence for enterprise communications.
The company says Airtel IQ Verify evaluates network, device, and usage signals to identify potentially fraudulent account creation and protect legitimate customers. The platform also aims to detect artificial traffic spikes associated with fraudulent SMS pumping, which can result in unexpected billing for enterprises.
Another capability is Silent Authentication. Instead of relying on an SMS One-Time Password (OTP), the system validates whether the number entered during a login or SIM-binding process matches the active SIM in the device.
Airtel says this can reduce risks associated with SIM swaps and social engineering.
Deployment options for enterprises
IQ Gateway can be integrated with existing communication workflows and vendor ecosystems. Enterprises can deploy it on their own premises or use it as a Software as a Service (SaaS) offering hosted on Airtel’s cloud, depending on their security and deployment requirements.
The platform was launched nationwide following trial deployments involving select banks, financial institutions, and other industry collaborations.
Sharat Sinha, CEO, Airtel Business, said the company wants to extend its network-level fraud prevention capabilities from consumer services to enterprise communications.
“With IQ Gateway, we are extending this proven expertise to enterprises, enabling them to build brand trust while ensuring every customer conversation is safe, authenticated and resilient,” Sinha said.
The launch comes as enterprises increasingly manage customer interactions across several digital channels. Airtel’s approach is to bring those channels, vendor controls, delivery visibility, and fraud protection into a single enterprise communication layer.
