Cloudflare has announced significant updates to its phishing capabilities, now offering free email security for political parties and campaigns through Cloudflare for Campaigns.
Phishing is borderless and is still the initial vector for 9 out of every 10 cyber attacks, with methods and tactics becoming increasingly sophisticated. Today’s threats are changing to incorporate even more advanced techniques that bypass detection rules, and use AI to craft personalized and targeted phishing messages at scale.
As phishing incidents continued to climb in 2024, Cloudflare overhauled its manual, human review and intervention approach and built an automated phishing identification system. This proved effective: in the second half of 2024, automated systems, which resolved nearly 80% of phishing reports in the second half of 2024. Furthermore, Cloudflare is also expanding its product suite under Cloudflare for Campaigns to include Email Security to secure email systems that are essential to safeguarding the integrity and success of a political campaign.
