Guardian India, the global capability center of Guardian Life Insurance, has named Karunakaran Azhisur as its Chief Information Officer for India. In this role, Azhisur will report to Guardian India’s Country Head, Shiney Prasad. Azhisur brings over 25 years of technology leadership experience to Guardian India, having held senior positions in various global companies. Before joining Guardian India, he served as the Global CIO for GE Vernova’s Hydro Power Business and previously as the Regional CIO for Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. He led the Global Software Engineering team for GE Gas Power and oversaw GE’s India Digital Hub, serving on the board of GE India Industrials. Azhisur also worked as a Senior Director at VMware, focusing on IT Applications Architecture and the SAP Center of Excellence, and held various roles at Juniper Networks, progressing from Director of IT to Senior Director of IT Applications.
