Despite these concerns, 75% of respondents believed that their career growth would be impeded if they did not learn about AI, machine learning, and other related fields.
The survey also found that 62% of Indians recognize the significant role of AI in personalized and accelerated learning processes through targeted feedback. However, there are concerns about potential risks associated with AI, and respondents believe the Indian education system should prioritize critical thinking and problem-solving skills, digital literacy, AI-related subjects, and interdisciplinary learning to better prepare students for an AI-driven future. The survey findings suggest that there is a significant demand for AI-powered learning solutions, which could facilitate the development of future AI applications and educational programs. Notably, the participants expressed a desire to use AI to enhance their skills in various areas, such as advanced programming languages (45%), foreign language fluency (22%), mastering sports or physical activities (12%), and playing musical instruments (12%). This indicates a strong interest among Indians in using AI to accelerate their personal and professional development.
India’s IT sector, which is one of the largest in the world, has been at the forefront of the AI revolution, with companies like TCS, Infosys, and Wipro investing heavily in AI. India’s startups are also driving AI innovation and growth, and the adoption of AI has the potential to transform many industries.
However, the adoption of AI also raises concerns about job displacement and the need for reskilling and upskilling the workforce. As the Digit survey highlights, there is a growing recognition among Indians of the importance of AI education and upskilling to remain competitive in the job market.
