Samir Aksekar has taken on a new role as Managing Director at EQT Group, further strengthening the firm’s leadership focus on technology, cybersecurity, and value creation across its portfolio.
In his expanded mandate at EQT, Samir builds on his prior role as Cybersecurity Director, where he advised APAC portfolio companies on cyber risk, resilience, and technology governance. As Managing Director, he is expected to play a broader role in shaping technology and cybersecurity strategy as a business enabler, supporting EQT’s long-term investment thesis and operational excellence across regions.
Before joining EQT, Samir served as Chief Information Security Officer at Tata Digital, where he was instrumental in securing the launch of India’s first super-app, Tata Neu. His tenure was marked by embedding security into high-growth digital businesses including fintech, edtech, and travel platforms, while balancing speed, scale, and regulatory compliance. He was also a key contributor to M&A technology and risk assessments, enabling informed investment decisions.
Earlier in his career, Samir held senior cybersecurity and technology leadership roles at J.P. Morgan across Asia Pacific, where he led large-scale technology risk, controls, and governance programs spanning 17 markets. He also worked with IBM and cybersecurity consulting firm Cyberwis, building deep expertise across banking, healthcare, and regulated industries.
With a career spanning global financial services, digital platforms, and private equity, Samir Aksekar’s appointment as Managing Director underscores EQT’s emphasis on cybersecurity, technology resilience, and value creation as core pillars of investment success.
