Vinay Kumar joined Tim Hortons – Middle East as Head of IT

Tim Hortons has appointed Vinay Kumar as Head of IT. He moves into the role after an accomplished tenure as Chief Information Officer at McDonald’s India – North and East, where he led the entire technology function covering applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity, eCommerce, and support operations.

At McDonald’s India – North & East, Vinay drove the IT vision, roadmap, and large-scale digital transformation initiatives, ensuring system reliability, security, and operational excellence across the region. He managed technology investments, vendor ecosystems, and service delivery frameworks while collaborating with global teams to enhance enterprise platforms and business processes. His leadership earned him multiple recognitions, including CIO 100 Winner 2023, Bharat Leadership Award, and being featured among “Tech Pioneers: CTOs Building the Future of Technology.”

In parallel, he has also been serving as CIO at MMG, overseeing technology across diversified verticals including food & beverages and oil & gas. Earlier in his career, he held senior IT leadership roles at PepsiCo (FOBO – Nectar Beverages Pvt. Ltd.), FläktGroup (India IT Head), Bata India Limited, and Flyjac Logistics Pvt. Ltd., where he spearheaded ERP implementations, BI systems, digital adoption programs, and nationwide IT infrastructure rollouts.

With over two decades of experience in driving enterprise IT strategy, digital transformation, cybersecurity, and operational excellence, Vinay Kumar’s appointment marks a significant step for Tim Hortons as it strengthens its technology backbone to support growth, customer experience, and innovation in the quick service restaurant segment.
