Anil Kuril has been promoted to the position of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) & Head of the Data Protection Office at Union Bank of India. With a remarkable tenure of over 16 years at the bank and nearly three decades in the banking technology space, Anil will now lead the bank’s cybersecurity strategy and data protection initiatives.
In his previous role as Chief Technology Officer & CGM (IT, Digital & Analytics), Anil played a pivotal role in driving digital transformation, tech modernization, and analytics-driven innovations. His journey also includes serving on the boards of key industry bodies like IBDIC (Indian Banks’ Digital Infrastructure Company) and CERSAI India, where he has contributed to shaping the digital future of Indian banking.
Prior to Union Bank of India, Anil held senior IT leadership positions at Punjab National Bank and Allahabad Bank, overseeing large-scale IT projects and software development. His deep-rooted expertise in cybersecurity, digital banking, and enterprise technology makes him a valuable asset in strengthening Union Bank’s security posture and safeguarding customer trust in an increasingly digital era.
