Mahesh Toshniwal has been promoted to Associate Vice President at Jindal Steel Ltd..
In this expanded leadership role, he will continue to lead enterprise IT operations, cybersecurity strategy, cloud transformation, infrastructure modernization, and technology-driven business initiatives supporting the organization’s growth and digital ambitions.
Prior to this promotion, he served as Group Head of IT Operations at Jindal Steel & Power Ltd., where he was responsible for IT strategy, cloud initiatives, cybersecurity programs, and enterprise technology operations across the group.
Earlier, he served as Head Corporate IT Operations and Group Initiative | Cyber Security | Cloud at Vedanta Limited, leading information security, governance, cloud operations, compliance, infrastructure transformation, and enterprise-wide cybersecurity initiatives. During his tenure, he drove major programs including Microsoft Intune, Defender, Sentinel SOC implementation, cloud migration, SD-WAN deployment, and group-wide IT transformation initiatives.
He also held leadership positions at STL Digital and multiple roles within the Vedanta ecosystem, including Dy Manager Corporate IT Operation and Group Initiative, Lead IT Infrastructure and Operation at Sterlite Copper, A Unit of Vedanta Limited, and Lead Infrastructure, Associate Manager at Vedanta Resources Limited.
Before joining Vedanta, he spent nearly nine years with UltraTech Cement in leadership roles including Assistant Manager and IT Head at Ultratech Cement Limited (Aligarh Unit). During this period, he led IT infrastructure establishment, information security implementation, ISO 27001 initiatives, disaster recovery planning, WAN transformation, and greenfield technology projects for manufacturing operations.
Over the course of his career, he has successfully led large-scale cloud migrations, cybersecurity modernization, infrastructure transformation, compliance programs, business continuity initiatives, SOC implementation, and enterprise-wide digital transformation projects across manufacturing and industrial environments.
With close to two decades of experience across IT operations, cybersecurity, cloud computing, infrastructure management, governance, and digital transformation, he brings deep expertise in building secure, scalable, and future-ready technology ecosystems.
