Ashwini Kumar Choudhary is set to begin a new journey as Chief Risk Officer-Designate at RBL Bank.
In this role, he will be responsible for strengthening the bank’s enterprise risk management framework, enhancing credit, market, and operational risk oversight, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting sustainable business growth through robust governance practices.
Prior to this, he served as Group Chief Risk Officer at Union Bank of India, where he led enterprise-wide risk management initiatives covering credit, market, and operational risk functions.
Earlier, he spent more than a decade with TATA CLEANTECH CAPITAL LIMITED, serving first as Head- Credit and later as Chief Risk Officer. During this period, he played a key role in strengthening risk governance, credit evaluation frameworks, and portfolio risk management for renewable energy and infrastructure financing businesses.
Before that, he was Head Risk at Srei Infrastructure Finance Limited, where he managed enterprise-wide credit, market, and operational risk functions across the organization.
He also served as Vice President- Risk at HSBC, leading corporate banking credit risk management initiatives and supporting risk assessment for large corporate portfolios.
Earlier, he worked as Senior Manager- Risk at HDFC Bank, focusing on corporate banking credit risk management and portfolio quality oversight.
He began his banking career with Bank of Baroda, where he spent over eight years across multiple roles covering corporate credit, SME financing, credit administration, and corporate banking operations.
With nearly three decades of experience across banking, credit risk, market risk, operational risk, infrastructure financing, and enterprise governance, he brings deep expertise in building resilient risk management frameworks and supporting sustainable financial growth.
