KRC Murty has taken on a new role as Executive Vice President – Head IT (Business Systems) at SBI Life Insurance Co. Ltd., strengthening the insurer’s technology leadership as it continues to scale its digital and operational capabilities.
In his new position, KRC Murty will be responsible for driving IT strategy for business systems, ensuring resilience, scalability, and alignment of technology platforms with SBI Life’s business objectives. His mandate spans IT operations, service delivery, digital enablement, vendor management, and risk management across core insurance systems.
Prior to this appointment, he served as Senior President – Head of AMG & IMG – Business & Digital Technology Solutions at YES BANK, where he led large-scale business and digital technology initiatives across asset and investment management domains. Before that, he was Head of Run-the-Bank (RTB) – Information Technology at Kotak Mahindra Bank, overseeing critical IT operations and service stability.
Earlier in his career, KRC Murty spent over a decade at Deutsche Bank, holding multiple senior leadership roles including Head of Technology Support for Global Markets and Market Data Services for South Asia, managing complex, mission-critical banking technology environments. He also held leadership roles at Merrill Lynch, HDFC Bank, and Times Bank, building deep expertise across banking, capital markets, infrastructure, and enterprise IT operations.
With nearly three decades of experience across financial services technology, operations, and transformation, KRC Murty’s appointment is expected to play a key role in strengthening SBI Life’s IT backbone and supporting its long-term growth and innovation agenda.
