Senthil Kumaran has joined CaratLane – A TATA Product as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), taking on the role in September 2026.
Prior to joining CaratLane, Kumaran served as Senior Manager – Information Security at Standard Chartered Bank, where he spent nearly four years. His responsibilities included managing technical control testing for critical IT systems, driving governance, risk and compliance initiatives, conducting control gap analysis and risk assessments, and supporting audit readiness and remediation.
Before Standard Chartered Bank, Kumaran served as Chief Manager – Information Security Group at Karur Vysya Bank. He managed the implementation of network and endpoint security solutions, including firewalls, WAFs, IDS/IPS, PAM, DLP, NAC and SIEM systems. He also led the Security Operations Center, handled incident response and threat analysis, and supported ISO 27001 and statutory compliance requirements.
Earlier, he worked at Standard Chartered Bank as Manager – Information Security, where he contributed to the design and implementation of security solutions, defined security requirements, conducted proof-of-concepts and provided technical guidance for new security technologies.
Kumaran also served as Lead Information Security Analyst at Netsurion, where he led SOC activities related to SIEM deployment and threat analysis across the banking and healthcare sectors. His work included incident response, vulnerability assessment and security risk reporting.
Earlier in his career, Kumaran spent four years at Zoho Corporation as an Information Security Presales Consultant, providing security advisory and presales consultancy to clients and working on areas including data privacy, PCI DSS, ISO, NIST, GDPR and security incident management.
He began his career at CSS Corp as a Network Engineer, providing technical support for wireless and network security products and managing network access control policies and risk mitigation initiatives.
With extensive experience spanning information security, cybersecurity, governance, risk and compliance, security operations, technical controls and network security, Kumaran brings a broad security leadership background to his new role at CaratLane.
