Jayanta Bhowmik has taken on the position of Group Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Pakchoob Industrial Group, bringing with him over three decades of transformational leadership across enterprise IT, digital strategy, SAP programs, and global technology modernization.
In his new role, Jayanta reports directly to the Group CEO and is responsible for steering the SAP S/4HANA rollout, CRM and field sales platforms, online sales portals, and large-scale digital and automation initiatives across the Group’s diverse manufacturing and supply chain operations in the Middle East. He is also leading the development of a long-term digitalization roadmap, covering smart analytics, digital supply chain, and smart factory transformation aligned with Industry 4.0.
Before joining Pakchoob Industrial Group, Jayanta served as Senior Vice President & CIO at Greenpanel Industries, where he spearheaded enterprise-wide IT consolidation, data center upgrades, automation across manufacturing and sales, and SAP modernization. His strategic roadmap set the foundation for future-ready IT, mobility, cloud, and analytics across the organization.
Previously, as Group CIO at B.K. Birla Group, he executed one of the fastest and most complex SAP S/4HANA upgrades in the industry—migrating multiple companies from ECC 6.0 to S/4HANA 1909 on AWS cloud in a record four months, without business disruption.
Jayanta has also held pivotal technology leadership roles at Usha Martin, Apeejay Surrendra Group, Tega Industries, and Linde, where he managed global IT organizations, led SAP consolidation programs, built captive centers of excellence, delivered ERP transformation across geographies, and drove post-merger technology integration programs. His early career at HCLTech, ABP Group, and HCL laid the foundation for deep technical and infrastructure expertise.
With extensive experience in ERP transformation, digital manufacturing, global IT operations, cloud migration, and Industry 4.0 programs, Jayanta brings strong strategic and operational leadership to Pakchoob Industrial Group as it accelerates its digital evolution across MENA.
