SCI 2025 Tech Expo Inaugurated on Day 2; India Strengthens Momentum in HPC, AI & Quantum Innovation

Supercomputing India 2025 entered its second day with strong momentum, as the Tech Expo was officially inaugurated today at the Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Yelahanka, Bengaluru.

Shri Amitesh Kumar Sinha, Additional Secretary (E&IT), Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India & CEO, India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), in the presence of Shri Sudeep Shrivastava, Joint Secretary (E&IT), MeitY, Government of India, inaugurated the Tech Expo. Distinguished dignitaries, including Prof. Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, EC, NAAC; Shri Srikanth Chandrasekaran, Country Head, Global IEEE India; Prof. Debabrata Das, Director, IIIT Bangalore; Dr. Sunil Kumar Vuppala, Vice President, AI Labs, Aurigo Software Technologies; Dr. Prasant Misra, Industry Workshop Chair, SCI 2025, Prof. Sameer Shende, TPC Chair, SCI 2025, Shri Seetha Ram Krishna Nookala, Organizing Chair, SCI 2025, Shri Magesh E., General Chair SCI 2025, Dr. S D Sudarsan, Organizing Co-Chair, SCI 2025 joined the Tech Expo inaugural. While addressing the gathering, Shri. Amitesh Kumar Sinha emphasized the need to develop indigenous technologies, especially in HPC, AI and Quantum, which leads to India’s role in the global landscape.

The five-day event, which commenced yesterday, will run until 13 December 2025, bringing together the most influential scientific, industrial, and academic leaders advancing India’s computing future.

Over 180 exhibitors across two dedicated pavilions are showcasing compute hardware, Chip Design, sovereign design technologies, and India-led R&D in the development of various Technologies. Some of the prominent Exhibitors, including Industry leaders like VVDN, Kaynes, Dell Technologies, HPE, Intel, QuantrolOx, BeeGFS, MosChip, Fujitsu, DDN, BEL, ASRock Rack, Velankani, Vast Data, Concept Information Technologies, KSRCT, Acceleron, VT Vacuum Technologies, L&T Vyoma, HCLTech, Infinipoint, All MeitY supported DLI  Startup/MSMEs and MIT, who are demonstrating their cutting-edge innovations.

A major attraction is the MeitY ChipIN Pavilion, spotlighting 50+ semiconductor and HPC startups, along with 15 MSMEs and 10 booths hosted by the MeitY Startup Hub (MSH). Startups in compute infrastructure, quantum solutions, chip design, high-speed networking, and cybersecurity are displaying India’s self-reliance drive in deep-tech manufacturing and innovation.

Day 2 Conference sessions featured expert keynotes from Mr. Ken Toyoda (CEO & MD, Fujitsu Research of India), Dr. Hiroshi Horii (Head – IBM Quantum Japan), and Mr. Cullen Bash (Vice President & Deputy Director, HPE USA). Program highlights included the ChipIN ConclaveWomen in Technology (HPC, AI, Quantum), the PARAM Shavak User Meet, and multiple specialized workshops and panels advancing collaboration between academia, startups, and global HPC communities.

SCI 2025 continues to amplify India’s computing capabilities under the National Supercomputing Mission, accelerating the development of indigenous systems, advanced AI, quantum innovation, and semiconductor design. With HPC now central to national strategy across climate modelling, healthcare, space exploration, defence and energy systems, SCI 2025 marks a pivotal moment in India’s emergence as a global deep-tech leader.
