AI Safety Conclave Releases Research Report on Guidelines for Critical Sectors.

A comprehensive research report titled “Principles for Ethical and Safe Agentic AI Orchestration Across Infrastructure Gradients – Safety Guidelines for Critical Sectors in India and the Global South” was released at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus.

The research report was unveiled during the AI Safety Conclave, organised by the AI Safety Research Lab, part of the Amrita Center for Cybersecurity Systems and Networks, under the theme “Safe AI for the Global South.” The conclave was convened with the objective of ensuring safe, ethical, and trustworthy artificial intelligence systems for developing nations, and was held as a precursor to the India AI Impact Summit 2026 to be organised by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India.

The conclave featured eminent global and national leaders as chief guests, including Shri Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary, Ministry of IT and CEO of the IndiaAI Mission; Ms. Gabriela Ramos, Assistant Director-General of UNESCO; Dr. Avinash Ramtohul, Minister of ICT, Mauritius; Dr. D. Seshagiri, Director and Scientist, NPOL–DRDO; Mr. Ankit Bose, Head AI, Nasscom; and Mr. Vinay Chandran, Partner, Quantum Black, AI by McKinsey, Middle East . Also present were Dr. Maneesha V. Ramesh, Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University; Dr. Krishnashree Achuthan, Dean; Dr. S. N. Jyothi, Associate Dean (Engineering); and Dr. Sivaramakrishnan R. Guruvayur, Head – AI Safety Research Lab , among others.

University officials stated that releasing the white paper at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri, marks a significant step toward building robust and responsible AI ecosystems. The document is designed to guide ethical, safe, and coordinated deployment of agentic AI, with special attention to the socio-economic and infrastructural realities of India and the Global South.

The research report outlines key principles and practical frameworks for the responsible use of AI, particularly in critical sectors such as healthcare, education, finance, energy, and public services. It emphasizes core values including safety, transparency, accountability, and human oversight, offering structured guidance for policymakers, technologists, and institutions.

In addition to the release of the research report, the conclave hosted expert-led panel discussions on building AI ecosystems in sectors such as healthcare, education, and banking, alongside in-depth deliberations on AI safety and ethics. The conclave was conducted in a hybrid format and witnessed participation from nearly 300 delegates, reflecting growing global engagement on the future of safe and responsible artificial intelligence.
