Practo has appointed Cijo George as Vice President & Head of AI, reinforcing its commitment to advancing AI-led innovation across digital healthcare.
In his new role at Practo, Cijo will lead the company’s artificial intelligence strategy, platform development, and machine learning initiatives aimed at enhancing patient experience, provider efficiency, and intelligent healthcare delivery.
Prior to joining Practo, Cijo spent nearly five years at Observe.AI, where he most recently served as Director of Engineering – AI Platform. Over the years, he progressed through multiple leadership roles including Senior Manager – ML & Engineering and Manager – Machine Learning, building scalable AI platforms and leading high-performing ML engineering teams.
Earlier, he was Head of Platform & AI at Belong.co, where he led AI product innovation and platform engineering initiatives. His career also includes significant technical leadership roles at NetApp within the Advanced Technology Group (CTO Office), focusing on advanced systems and research-driven innovation.
Cijo began his career with research experience at Indian Institute of Science (IISc), followed by a software engineering role at Nokia Siemens Networks.
With over 15 years of experience spanning AI platforms, machine learning engineering, advanced research, and enterprise-scale systems, Cijo George’s appointment marks a strategic move by Practo to deepen its AI capabilities and accelerate innovation in India’s digital healthcare ecosystem.
