Allcargo Gati, one of India’s leading express distribution and supply chain management companies, has shifted its enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), to increase its operational efficiency by 20%. The migration highlights a broader trend within India’s logistics sector, as firms seek to modernise in response to rising demand and digital disruption.
With India’s logistics market projected to reach $150 billion by FY28, companies like Allcargo Gati are under huge pressure to improve efficiency and scalability. The firm, which operates a fleet of more than 9,000 vehicles across the country, faced enormous challenges with its legacy on-premises IT infrastructure. To remain competitive in an increasingly digitised economy, it opted to transition its ERP system to Oracle Base Database Service on OCI, which offers high availability, robust security, and scalability.
“Our mission is to delight customers and enable swift, safe and timely deliveries, every single time. To achieve this, it is crucial for us to embrace technology to improve business agility and scalability,” said Sanjay Khiyani, Chief Information Officer at Allcargo Gati. He noted that beyond streamlining operations, the cloud migration positions the company to integrate emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics.
The move aligns with a broader push for digital transformation in India’s supply chain sector. Infrastructure bottlenecks, unpredictable demand, and growing customer expectations are prompting logistics firms to adopt cloud solutions that promise enhanced uptime, reduced latency, and more efficient management of seasonal demand fluctuations.
For Oracle, which has been expanding its presence in India, the deal with Allcargo Gati highlights the growing appeal of its cloud offerings in the enterprise sector. “Technology is transforming India’s logistics industry, driven by the growing demand for faster, more efficient supply chains and enhanced customer service,” said Premalakshmi PR, Vice President of Technology Cloud at Oracle India. By leveraging OCI’s secure and scalable architecture, Allcargo Gati can ensure higher system uptime and strengthen its reputation for reliable service delivery, she added.
The implementation was carried out by Infolob Global, an Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) member, which facilitated the migration of critical workloads to the cloud. “Cloud solutions are transforming the logistics industry by providing unparalleled adaptability, operational reliability, and scalable growth,” said Satyendra Pasalapudi, Managing Director of Infolob Global.
As India’s logistics sector evolves, the shift to cloud-based infrastructure could determine which companies emerge as industry leaders. With OCI providing the backbone for its digital operations, Allcargo Gati’s investment in cloud technology signals a commitment to agility and innovation in a highly competitive market.
