Experion Technologies and Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg forge an alliance to Propel Research and Development in Energy Systems and Artificial Intelligence

Experion Technologies, a global product engineering & digital transformation services firm, and Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (JMU), a public research institution in Bavaria, Germany, have officially entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen collaborative efforts in research and development in the realm of Energy Systems, Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Experion Technologies, established in 2006, is a global provider of Product Engineering and Digital Transformation Services, delivering future-ready and transformative digital solutions to businesses. Serving as a strategic partner to over 500 customers worldwide in 37 countries, the company specializes in sectors like Automotive, Healthcare, BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance), and Retail, harnessing the latest in Artificial Intelligence, IoT (Internet of Things), and Cloud Computing.

Founded in 1402, JMU is one of Germany’s oldest and most reputed universities, with a legacy of scientific excellence that includes 14 Nobel Laureates who have contributed to its history of research and academia.

The partnership will facilitate collaborative research projects focused on smart energy systems, with a particular emphasis on AI and simulation. By pooling resources and expertise, both entities aim to drive innovation in this critical domain by extending mutual access to specialized laboratories, research facilities, and computational resources to facilitate research.

Experion Technologies and JMU will establish avenues for reciprocal learning through exchange programs, enabling students immersed in research and theoretical work at JMU to collaborate with Experion project teams. This initiative will allow Experion staff to engage in academic research, gaining insights into the latest advancements in smart energy systems and AI, which is in line with the organization’s Culture of Learning. Simultaneously JMU students get the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge into research projects that involve real-world applications in Experion’s commercial environment.

Speaking on the occasion, Binu Jacob, MD & CEO at Experion Technologies, expressed enthusiasm about the collaborative prospects unleashed by the MOU: “Experion has ongoing engagements with global clients in Electric Vehicles (EV) manufacturing, Charging Networks, Smart Grids, Utility Billing Solutions, Embedded Systems, Energy Management, and ESG. We see trends crystalizing in bi-directional charging based on the impending dynamic energy pricing scenario wherein EV fleets or EVs are going to be power plants or power consumers in cities to thus manage the energy grid load and optimize costs for consumers.”
