SAP Study: Indian Businesses Integrating AI into Core Operations for Measurable Outcomes

SAP India has released new analysis showing Indian enterprises are moving beyond AI experimentation to implement solutions delivering tangible business results across core operations, according to findings presented at the SAP NOW AI Tour in Mumbai last week.

The analysis, based on SAP customer data collected between March 2024 and March 2025, identifies the most widespread AI applications among Indian businesses: AI-generated visual insights and translations, process analysis, sales order creation from unstructured data, predictive forecasting, and natural language queries.

“In any organisation, it is the profound insights derived from data that fuel mission-critical operations,” said Manish Prasad, President and Managing Director of SAP Indian Subcontinent. “We are empowering our customers as they evolve into intelligent, optimized businesses by embedding AI agents into all aspects of business operations.”

SAP, which recently became Europe’s largest company by market capitalization, has maintained significant operations in India since 1996, partnering with major organizations including Mahindra & Mahindra, Asian Paints, Wipro, Infosys, and emerging companies like Vahdam Teas and Wakefit.

SAP Labs India, the company’s second-largest R&D center outside Germany, plays a crucial role in developing SAP’s AI co-pilot, Joule, and contributes substantially to SAP’s global target of 400 embedded AI use cases across its portfolio.

The recently launched SAP Business Cloud introduces new data and AI innovations, helping companies move beyond automation to address complex business challenges. SAP’s agentic AI solutions in Business Suite aim to anticipate needs, adapt in real-time, and accelerate outcomes across functions including finance, supply chain, manufacturing, HR, and customer experience.

Wipro Limited, a major technology services company, has selected SAP Joule for Consultants to leverage generative AI capabilities. “Even for our internal teams we can embed generative AI to increase productivity through insights,” said Srinivas Sai Nidadhavolu, Vice President and Global Practice Head of SAP at Wipro.

According to Prasad, this AI integration enables organizations to “shift from hindsight to foresight,” balancing risk with growth while building future-ready teams and delivering proactive customer experiences.
